    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“The passion for life (and its deferential submission)”……................ Booth 1846

Pompano Beach, Florida May 8, 2007: As an emergency room physician, I am intimately involved in the struggle
to assure the best physical and mental outcome for the patient I attend to. In the 23 years of my career, I have
witnessed a palette of emotions by which these patients approach their trials and tribulations. From this palette, I
drew the passions that inspired the characters in Cry WaterColors.

In the analysis of a crippling illness or accident, it is so often said that the condition “beats the alternative (referring
to death).” As the attending physician, deeply involved in the battle to assure the best medical outcome, I have
often asked “what if I was in their shoes?” In many situations, would death not be deferential?  As this is a very
personal decision, I challenged the protagonist in Cry WaterColors with making a decision between “the quality of
life” and the debilitation resulting from the effort to sustain “life at all cost.” In the pursuit of medical care, at what
point is the sanctity of life compromised?

At the NYC Book Expo I intent to share the passion of Cry WaterColors with those who care to stop by my booth
    (#1846).

Excerpt:  At seven, supposedly too young to experience desperation, Mark challenged his confusion. In the silence
of his darkened room, he firmly held the point of the knife against his belly. From the pit it made, pressed against his
flesh, he felt the warm trickle of blood….. (Prelude)
